Today, I've had a strange dream, the first one in many years. I saw my old home, after I believed to have entirely forgotten everything about where I came from. I recalled the house I used to live in, a small building made of simple materials with ancient architecture. I also saw the faces of others like me, but more specifically those of my parents, while the pale moon bathed us in its light. The moon, the great force we used to worship. I've long since forgotten how they used to look, but I could recall their faint presence within my mind. This dream made me reflect on many things…

namely the affirmation that everything about my species has been erased from every trace of the world in their mass genocide, aside from my forgetful mind. This inspired me to begin putting everything I can squeeze out of my mind together, to assemble all the pieces in this puzzle, so that it will no longer be forgotten. I've decided to draw everything as I remember it as well, in hopes of sharing a clearer picture of what was lost.

My people — called the "Chimerae" by humans — were chimeric beings formed of different creatures: goat, snake, human, bird, etc. We were molded to serve a greater force, but we were also made with the purpose of expanding and creating a small peaceful civilization, away from all danger.

All of us shared a similar appearance — a strong body covered in white fur that grew from our lower abdomen to our legs, two sparkling blue eyes,

long white hair almost resembling the consistency of our fur, a sharp set of teeth accompanied by a snake like mouth, two strong goat-like hind legs, a goat's tail, sharp claws, and two large wings and goat horns which grew with age. Unlike my long-gone contemporaries, however, my wings are smaller than normal, most likely due to a birth defect or some accident from my youth.

I recall that most of us used to bear markings resembling the various constellations of our beliefs, mainly tied to the heroes and poets favoured by our moon. I have one as well on my back, but I no longer remember which constellation it represents. It often glows at night, likely means that these markings are made of a bioluminescent material.

As far as I can interpret, the shape resembles that of a bow and arrow. I can assume the constellations of the others were simplistic in nature like mine,

but that's only a small detail that came to mind. It must have had some form of cultural significance, maybe correlated to our date of birth or just to our heritage. Perhaps if I try to focus, I may remember more clearly in the future.

Most noteworthy about us was our psychic abilities and our connection to the realm of thoughts. These same abilities are the entire reason for why I'm working for the M.E.G. in the first place. Chimerae are able to form thought into physical matter, depending on their age and mental state. I can faintly remember that when I was younger, I could only form small objects. But as of today, I can make objects around the same size of a wardrobe.

As for our psychic powers, I don't have a full grasp on their variety, but I do know that they can range from telekinesis to the manipulation of the mind. I was only ever capable of controlling non-sentient entities and pacifying them, but I've never been able to control beings with an intellect comparable to my own. Perhaps it's a limitation that we all had.

There would be more little details that come off the top of my mind, but I feel like I should try to gather some more information before putting it all together. I already have half an idea on where I should look first for answers. Most everything about Chimerae have been erased, but trace evidence of our existence may remain in Hoofstad. I clearly remember visiting it with my parents to conduct worship at the temple of the moon and fix the disrepair left by the humans who abandoned it. I know that if I go there, I'll find more answers.

Tomorrow I will pack my bags and go. Perhaps I should bring Olivia with me, but I don't want to disrupt her too much while she's pregnant. She needs to rest at the base and this is something I should handle on my own. Perhaps then, once our baby is born, I'll be able to teach them everything I remembered about our ancestors. That way, I won't be the last with the memory of them.
